Es handelt sich um ein Trainingsrevier für die Ruderer der Landeshauptstadt und der Nationalmannschaft. Es besteht eine Bootshalle mit Booten verschiedener Vereine und des Regionalverbandes. Zwei Motorboote sind verfügbar.
Der See hat das ganze Jahr über genug Wasserstand und ist etwa 6 km lang. Er ist windanfällig aber im Jahr 2004 wurde eine Verfügbarkeit von etwa 75 % errechnet. Gute Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten ausser Sommermonate.
Durch 900 m ü.NN. ist dieses Gewässer wenig geeignet für Winter-Trainingslager.
