Westlich (meerwärts) von Balestrand ist das Rudern nicht zu empfehlen. Auch auf den Strecken des Hauptfjords östlich von Balestrand ist grösste Vorsicht geboten.
Gedeckte E- oder D-Boote oder Seegigs sind lebenswichtig. Die Obleute sollten einen Langtursstyrmand haben.
Starke Tideströmungen möglich, Achtung bei Springflut Boote mindestens 1,5m über die Flutlinie legen.
