direkt nach der Einfahrt in den Hafen fährt man auf die Steganlagen der Seglervereinigung Geesthacht zu. Am Gastlieger kann man einigermaßen gut mit Ruderbooten anlegen. Im Vereinshaus gibt es Toiletten, den Schlüssel beim Hafenmeister (blaues Boot am Ende des Motorbootliegers) erfragen.
Nach der Schleuse Geesthacht machen sich die Gezeiten auf der Elbe bemerkbar. Für Wanderfahrten ist es sinnvoll bei der Planung zu Weiterfahrt nach Hamburg einen Tidenkalender miteinzubeziehen. Am Schleusenkanal 21502 Geesthacht
