An windstillen Tagen oder bei Nordostwind ist die Fahrt am Ostufer möglich. Laut den Aussagen der Mirower Ruderer ist das selten der Fall. Zahlreiche Naturschutzgebiete (Nationalpark Müritz) zwingen oft dazu, großen Abstand vom Ufer zu halten. Ist die auf der Müritz nicht ruderbare Müritz-Elde-Wasserstraße nicht 19 km lang, so kommt die Strecke am Ostufer entlang auf 25 km.
